Zhao Ai,Deputy-president and secretary-general of China Society of Economic Reform (CSER)He was the former director-general of the Regional Opening Department of the National Development and Reform Commission (Office for Promoting the Belt and Road Initiative), the director-general of the Western Development Department of the NDRC. He was also the head of the Comprehensive Planning department and the Social Economy department of the Western Development Office of the State Council as well as the Press Spokesman. He served as the vice-secretary-general of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (2009 – 2011). He is currently the deputy-president and secretary-general of China Society of Economic Reform (CSER), and the chairman of the advisory committee of China-SCO(Shanghai Cooperation Organization)economic cooperation zone located in Qingdao.He graduated from the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 1987, and studied at the International Institute of Management and Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1990. He is invited to be a guest lecturer of Zhejiang university and the graduate school of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. As a senior researcher in macroeconomic, regional economy, economic system reform, enterprise management, and international competitiveness, he has presided over research projects of the State Council, the Asian Development Bank, the World Economic Forum and other international organizations. He has participated in drafting reform plans and work reports entrusted by the State Council and the NDRC.
